Reid Ashton is a photographer, filmmaker and director from Michigan. After earning his BFA degree with honors from Art Center in 1987 Reid went on to work with renowned companies such as Disney Inc., Rolling Stone, Playboy, Us Magazine, NY Times, and the LA Times. For the last six years one of Reid’s main house accounts has been Harley-Davidson.
Reid has established a long-standing relationship with the advertising industry working with agencies such as BBDO, Carmichael Lynch, Campbell Ewald, J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy and Mather, and Young & Rubicam.
He has been the recipient of numerous photography awards such as the Kodak Medallion of Excellence. Reid has been awarded many local and national awards including Mobius First Place in Category and Best of Show for all print, the Caddy’s Gold and Best of Show Direct Marketing, Kelly Awards Finalist, and New York Festivals - Gold. Reid's work appeared in Archive magazine and he was also chosen as the sole artist to create original artwork throughout Detroit's Ford Field.
Over the years Reid's passion for photography has lead him to shoot globally at destinations including Central America, China, Russia, Europe, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates. Reid's interest in making imagery includes continuous experimentation. He is currently exploring the boundaries between stills and motion.
